Semangar Water Treatment Plant Upgrading, Package 6 — Distribution Works, Kota Tinggi

A major distribution pipeline was constructed from the Bukit 75 Reservoir to Pulai, forming part of a wider upgrading programme that doubled the Semangar Water Treatment Plant’s total capacity to meet growing demand across Kota Tinggi.

Project Description
Body: This package formed one of 7 packages under a wider upgrading, rehabilitation, and expansion programme for the Semangar Water Treatment Plant in Kota Tinggi, which doubled the plant’s original capacity from 159.1 million litres a day (MLD) to 318.2 MLD. The scope covered installation of a 22km distribution pipeline from the Bukit 75 Reservoir to Pulai, ensuring an adequate supply of clean water to the area.

Scope Of Work

  • Supply and installation of a 1400mm diameter pipeline, approximately 22km, from the Bukit 75 Reservoir to Pulai
  • Interconnection works between two existing pipeline systems
  • Construction of steel truss structures for river crossings
  • Underground pipeline connection works
  • Installation of valve chambers and associated fittings

Status Note
Body: This project was completed as agreed and successfully commissioned. The defects liability period has ended without any major defect issues.
