Labohan Dagang Water Tank Construction, Package B — Bukit Jugra, Kuala Langat

A new 40 million litre water tank and distribution pipeline were constructed at Bukit Jugra, forming part of the Labohan Dagang Water Treatment Plant’s first phase, supplying drinking water to Teluk Panglima Garang, Sijangkang, and surrounding areas.

Project Description
Body: This package formed part of the first phase of the Labohan Dagang Water Treatment Plant, which draws water from the Langat River and supplies 200 million litres a day (MLD) of drinking water to the Kuala Langat district. The scope covered distribution pipeline works and storage tanks fed by the treatment plant, including significant earthworks, slope protection, pipeline installation, and construction of a new water tank.

Scope Of Work

  • Excavation of approximately 140,000 cubic metres of earth, largely consisting of hard soil and rock
  • Slope protection works
  • Supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of 1600mm diameter mild steel pipelines, approximately 1.6km
  • Construction, testing, and commissioning of a 40 million litre reinforced concrete water tank
  • Installation of large pipe connections to the new water tank

Status Note
Body: This project was completed within the agreed timeframe and successfully commissioned. As of the time of writing, the defects liability period has ended without any major issues.
